Geyer Family Story

Updated: Feb 25

Nestled in the heart of Havertown is one of our newest Compassion United families — the Geyers.

Four-year-old Maisy is a lover of Disney Princesses, rainbows, unicorns, and anything sparkly, pink, or purple. She adores school, dance, and Gaelic football. Maisy is also a proud big sister to two-year-old Michael (who loves Bluey and Paw Patrol) and little sister to six-year-old Brooklyn, whose favorites include Lilo & Stitch, kitty cats, and — you guessed it — unicorns.

In late fall, the Geyers family received the devastating news that Maisy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She is now in the midst of an intensive 18–24 month treatment plan that requires extended hospital stays. While the emotional toll is immense, the financial strain has also been significant.

This is where our community shines. Let’s surround this sweet family with love and help ease their burden so they can focus on what matters most — Maisy’s care and healing.

Thank you to Compassion United Havertown and all who donated and provided us with so many useful items during this time, the amount of stress this lifts from a supplies and financial standpoint will help us focus on Maisy during the difficult treatments. The items for our children matched up with their personality and favorite items and they all love them. We are truly overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness of our community.
