Compassion United Havertown is a 501c3 that was born out of a personal moment of community kindness. When founder Rachel McGonigle’s children were battling cancer in 2017, a simple Facebook post asking for Easter baskets turned into a wave of support from over 220 strangers—offering gifts, meals, donations, and rides. That overwhelming response inspired her to create a way for neighbors to support each other during difficult times. Today, our organization continues to nourish that spirit of compassion, supporting families and hosting annual Christmas drives, all made possible by the love and generosity of the Havertown community.
 

Our mission is simple:  To bring neighbors together to support residents of Haverford Township who are facing hardship. Through the dedication of our all-volunteer team, we provide compassionate assistance, essential resources, and a helping hand to ensure that no one in our community has to face difficult times alone.
