I'm really not sure I have the right words to express just how much we truly appreciate everything that's been donated, and done for us, especially the prepared meals. These last few months have really been the most difficult time in my life, and it's not something I ever anticipated. There have been some very dark points where I've felt so utterly alone. But seeing the level of generosity and kindness so many have extended, as well as the time and effort which has gone into helping us, has allowed a glimmer of light to help illuminate beyond that darkness. "Since my husband survived a severe stroke in December, our family’s challenges have been severe. Our lives have been upended managing Jeff‘s disabilities and recovery, health aides, bureaucracies, parenting, working, and life.
Someone suggested we apply to CUH but I declined, thinking there must be families in greater need- some of whom I helped just a little as a CUH volunteer in the past. It took some convincing to apply, as it was a humbling admission that we needed far more help than family and friends could provide.
The support we’ve received from our community has been an incredible gift!! Every meal, donation, help, prayer, advice and kind word has lifted us up. We are grateful for your generosity. We are privileged to live in this town where so many people understand the true meaning of community. What a gift you’ve given us!"
